Remember Britney Spears’ terrible performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards? Well, a new tell-all book is revealing that the secret to Britney’s terrible disaster of a performance was tequila - and lots of it!

[Britney] had been planning her routine at the prestigious event for months to prove to the world she had fully recovered from her personal problems.

However, insiders have now revealed she wasn’t mentally ready to perform and was drunk when she went out on stage.

In his new book ‘Britney: Inside the Dream
‘, writer Steve Dennis claims: “Britney herself managed to ruin the most important performance of her life. Hours before the show, her anxieties raged. She decided it was a good idea to start drinking tequila shots to calm her nerves - one after the other.”

Britney’s fragile mental state was also reportedly tested when her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake came into her dressing room to wish her luck.

Dennis revealed in the book: “Justin was cool and couldn’t have been friendlier, but that wigged her out more.”

Britney Spears these days though, as we know, is a total success story, having successfully battled drugs and alcohol, regained posession of her kids, and is now touring Europ on the ‘Circus’ tour.

Brad Pitt made fun of Mel Gibson’s much publicised 2006 DUI arrest. The busted Celebrity looked on laughing as Brad Pitt collected an award from Mel Gibson and said ‘Thanks, sugartits!’

BRAD PITT poked fun at fellow movie star MEL GIBSON at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night (30May09) - by referencing the BRAVEHEART star’s 2006 drink driving arrest during his Hall of Fame induction speech.
Gibson opened the show at Sony Studios by riding onstage on horseback, wearing a Viking helmet, to present Pitt, Edward Norton and director David Fincher with the Discretionary Guy Movie Hall of Fame Award for their work on cult film Fight Club.
But Pitt, dressed casually in a biker jacket and jeans, had the last laugh when he stepped up to collect the prize and stated, “Thanks, sugar tits!”
Gibson reportedly called a female police officer sugar tits shortly after his DUI arrest.

Pereaz Hilton reports that Lori Petty, who recently had a major guest star role on the Hit series House, was supposedly arrested in Venice California this weekend for suspicion of DUI. You may know Lori Petty best as the badass surfing girl from Point Break, or the bad-ass asskicking Tank Girl.

Despite rumors of Brad Pitt being unhappy playing Mr. Mom to Angelina Jolie’s brood of babies, and Brad Pitt possibly meeting with Jennifer Aniston back in America the 2 appeared to be cuddly all evening. Brad Pitt drank Bailey’s all night, while Angelina Jolie enjoyed chilled Vodka.

“Towards the end of the evening they sat together, his hand on her leg,” a source tells PEOPLE, adding that at one point Pitt had his arm wrapped around Jolie as they laughed and whispered into each other’s ears.
