Rapper Lil Wayne filed a petition to have cameras banned from his upcoming felony drug case. The case stems from Lil Wayne’s arrest at the beginning of 2009 in Arizona, where the police found Lil Wayne in possession of cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana. The rapper was also arrested for having a pistol in the vehicle, but the gun was registered, and the gun charges against Lil Wayne were dropped.
Rapper LIL WAYNE […] - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. - was arrested in Yuma, Arizona in January (09) at a Border Patrol checkpoint when officials allegedly discovered cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana on his tour bus.
Carter was booked on three drug possession charges, with a weapons charge subsequently dropped after the .40 calibre pistol found on the bus was discovered to be registered to Carter in Florida.
In a hearing at Arizona Superior Court on Friday (08May09), Judge Mark Wayne Reeves ruled media interest in the case is prompted “not by the facts but by Carter’s celebrity status”.
Carter is also facing trial in New York on gun possession charges stemming from a 2007 arrest in the Big Apple.
In March (09) the star was exonerated of felony drug charges in Atlanta, Georgia after a judge ruled a police search at the time of his 2006 arrest in the state was carried out illegally.

TMZ.com is reporting that Rapper Coolio has been busted for Posession of Crack Cocaine at LAX, as he was boarding a flight to Tulsa Oklahoma. Coolio has been troubled by Crack Cocaine in the past - good luck Coolio, if this alleged story is true!

Steven Page, of Canadian rockband The Barenaked Ladies, had his Cocaine charge reduced by a New York state judge today, in return for ‘good behavior’. Good news eh!
A drug charge against Barenaked Ladies singer-guitarist Steven Page was significantly reduced Tuesday by an upstate New York court.
The felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor and the 38-year-old musician was given what’s called an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, which means the charges will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for six months.
George Michael, 45, was arrested in a bathroom in London’s Hampstead Heath area after an attendant tipped police about the singer’s drug use in the facility.
He was released with a warning by London police.
“We can confirm a 45-year-old man was arrested in the Hampstead Heath area on the 19th of September on the suspicion of possessing drugs,” a Scotland Yard spokesman said. “He was taken to a North London police station where he received a caution and was released with no further action. The caution was for the possession of Class A and Class C drugs, cocaine and cannabis.”
In a statement Michael said: “I want to apologise to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them.”
