Celebrity Drunks And Drug Addicts Caught In The Act! Celebrity Alcoholics, Drug Addicts and Criminals!
Heather Locklear pleaded no contest to reckless driving for a recent arrest. She has been sentenced to three years on informal probation.
Locklear will also attend a 12-hour drug education program and pay a $700 fine, as part of the conditions surrounding her sentencing, according to TMZ.com
Heather Locklear was arrested in September on suspicion of driving under the influence in Santa Barbara county, California and agreed a plea bargain to reduce the original charge.
Locklear, 47, was booked having been “driving erratically” in the coastal area.
“A witness said Locklear was revving her engine loudly, and backed over a pair of sunglasses several times,” California highway patrol (CHP) spokesman Tom Marshall told People magazine at the time of the arrest.
“The witness called 911 because she was concerned for Locklear’s safety,” Marshall said. “When a CHP officer arrived, Locklear was found seated inside her vehicle, which was partially blocking the roadway.”
Appearing “disoriented and impaired”, the 47-year-old was taken to a local CHP station for drug and alcohol tests.
“Alcohol was ruled out as a factor, but based on the officer’s observations, we believe Locklear was under the influence of prescription medication,” Mr Marshall added.
Heather Locklear is still in trouble for her October DUI Arrest, though the charges have been knocked down to a misdemeanor. Seems a little suspicious - what kind of prescription drugs make you act drunk while driving?
Prosecutors in Santa Barbara have charged Heather Locklear with misdemeanor driving under the influence, citing prescription drugs.
The California Highway Patrol said the actress showed “obvious impairment” when an officer noticed her car parked on a highway and blocking a lane in Montecito in September, but that alcohol was ruled out. She was tested for drugs at a police station and released.
A member of the paparazzi was the one to call in to the California Highway Patrol to report Heather Locklear driving and acting erratically. So was the paparazzo doing it just to get the scoop?
Attorney Nicholas Tepper says Jill Ishkanian, who operates Sunset Photo & News, acted heroically when she reported an erratic driver Saturday. Ishkanian photographed Locklear’s sobriety test, then sold the pictures to TMZ for more than $27,000, Tepper said.
Tepper called the ensuing TMZ posts accusing Ishkanian of alerting a paparazzo to Locklear’s impending arrest “lies and innuendo.” A phone message for TMZ head Harvey Levin was not immediately returned Wednesday evening.
Heather Locklear has left the Arizona Rehab facility and returned to home after receiving treatment for “anxiety and depression”.
Heather entered an in-patient facility in Arizona in June and left July 20th.
A friend of Locklear tells People.com, “Heather’s feeling really great. And she looks beautiful, just radiant. “She told a really funny story and she laughed from her core. That’s when I knew she was going to be fine. I think that’s the best part of all - it’s so nice to hear her laugh.” Locklear is excited to be “back home with (daughter) Ava,” adds the friend.
