Drugs Suspected Toxicology Screen Ordered In Death Of Dr Dre Son

Andre Young Jr., son of famous rapper Dr. Dre, passed away last weekend at the age of 20. The autopsy was performed today, and the results were inconclusive, so now a toxicology screen has been ordered to investigate the role that drugs and/or alcohol played in the young man’s death.

The L.A Country Coroner’s office made a public comment today regarding the death of Dr. Dre’s son:

“We don’t know yet why he died,” Capt. Ed Winter told PEOPLE Wednesday. “There were no signs of trauma or foul play. We’ll be doing toxicology and other tests, which will take up to six weeks.”

A toxicology test is “mainly to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a part in a person’s death,” Capt. Winter said.
